Russia can earn $600 million by selling stolen Ukrainian grain - German media
Russia intends to export a total of almost 1.8 million tons of grain from the occupied territories of Ukraine in 2022, which could generate around USD 600 million
This is stated in the investigative report of the German NDR broadcaster, which refers to the Russian documents data, sea traffic and satellite images.
It is noted that since the beginning of the war, about 20 ships loaded with wheat and other grain left the port of Sevastopol in the annexed Crimea. Most of the vessels go to Syria, Russia or Turkey.
Bills of lading indicate that almost 40 more deliveries from Sevastopol are planned by the year end. For the first time, the lists reviewed by NDR show loading dates and quantities for upcoming routes. This suggests that the Russian occupiers have obviously already organized the logistics for future grain theft.
To hide the theft of grain Russian transport ships turn off transponders that transmit geolocation data.
Thus, Russia can earn about 600 million dollars with the illegal exports of Ukrainian grain at this year’s world market prices.
