Russia attacks Ukraine with drones. Damage caused in Kyiv, Poltava and Mykolaiv regions

On the night of December 21, Russian forces launched 35 Shahed-type attack drones against Ukraine. Defense forces shot down 34 UAVs

According to the Ukrainian Air Force report, air defense was operating in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovs'k, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions.

"A total of 35 Shahed-136/131 launches were recorded, which attacked in waves at different times, between 20:00 on December 20 and 03:30 on December 21," the statement reads.

Warehouse burns in Kyiv region

Ruslan Kravchenko, Kyiv Regional Military Administration head, wrote that the attack caused a fire at a civilian enterprise due to falling debris. 

"Windows were smashed and the walls of a 4-story building and 2 warehouse buildings located nearby were damaged. Eight cars were damaged," the statement reads.

Preliminary, no one was injured.

The State Emergency Service added that the building started burning. Rescuers quickly extinguished the fire over an area of 1500 square meters.

Air defense operated in Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy regions

Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy regional military administration, claimed that air defense forces shot down four Russian drones in the region, in particular in Cherkasy, Zolotonosha and Zvenyhorod districts.

"According to preliminary information, the falling debris caused minor consequences: several outbuildings and the roof of a residential building were damaged," said the head of the regional military administration. 

Air defense was also active in Khmelnytskyi region. 

"One Russian UAV was destroyed by one of the mobile groups in Khmelnytskyi region. There were no reports of injuries, deaths or damage to property," the military administration reported.

Shahed debris fell on residential building in Poltava region

"According to preliminary information, no one was injured. In the morning, a specialized commission will work at the site to record the damage. The owners of the house are receiving financial assistance," the statement of the Poltava Regional Military Administration reads. 

Building of agricultural enterprise on fire in Mykolaiv region

" A warehouse building of an agricultural enterprise was damaged by the fragments of a downed UAV in Mykolaiv district," the Southern Defense Forces report.

It is noted that a fire broke out there, which rescuers quickly extinguished. Nobody was injured.
