Russian missile attack on Donetsk region: death toll rises to two
On the night of November 30, Russian forces attacked Novohrodivka, Donetsk region, with missiles. Two people have been reported dead. There may still be people under the rubble
Ukraine’s National Police reported the information.
"As of 4:00 pm, there are already two dead in Novohrodivka: the body of another man was recovered from under the rubble," the statement said.
The deceased is a 55-year-old resident of a house that was hit by Russian troops. His family may be under the rubble: A 33-year-old woman, a 38-year-old man and an 8-year-old girl. The rescue operation continues.
In the morning, the acting head of the Donetsk military administration, Ihor Moroz, reported one dead person.
"The body of a deceased man was recovered from under the rubble at the site of the strike on a residential building in Novohrodivka," he said in a statement.
Earlier, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported on the attack.
"Pokrovsk, Novohrodivka and Myrnohrad came under fire. The attack injured 10 people, including 4 children. Five more people are being searched for under the rubble," the statement says.
A family with two children was injured in Pokrovsk: a 16-year-old boy and a 6-month-old baby. Another 13-year-old boy was also injured. An apartment building and 9 private houses, a police station, cars, and garages were damaged.
In addition, one of the shells exploded in the yard of a house where a family with two children lived. The attack destroyed the roof and walls of the house, and the family was trapped under the rubble.
"A police paramedic helped a man with a bloody baby in his arms get out from under the rubble. After examining the boy, the policeman wrapped him up and quickly took him to the hospital. There is no threat to the life of six-month-old Ilai," the minister added.
In Novohradivka, Russian troops attacked a multi-storey building. A 13-year-old child was wounded. There may be 5 more people under the rubble, including a child.
The Russian army also attacked Myrnohrad. The Russian troops fired 2 missiles from S-300 air defense systems. The police department was destroyed.
