Russia attacked Kyiv during US Secretary of Defense call — Umerov
Russian occupying forces launched ballistic missiles toward Kyiv while Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov was talking to his American counterpart Lloyd Austin
Rustam Umerov shared the information on Facebook.
"This morning talked to Secretary Austin. Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles just during our call. Once again grateful to Secretary Austin for the air defense systems provided by the US," the Ukrainian defense minister wrote.
Umerov added that he discussed with Austin concrete steps for Ukraine's victory.
"Updated my US colleague with the current battlefield situation and recent Ukrainian needs. Discussed some very specific steps we are going to take to ensure Ukrainian victory," the statement said.
On the morning of Saturday, November 11, several explosions occurred in Kyiv. Russian forces fired Iskander ballistic missiles toward Kyiv, one of which was destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces on the approach to the capital, and two more hit a field between two settlements in the Kyiv region.
