Russia actively uses aviation, dropping glide bombs in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions - General Staff
Russian invaders are attempting to take stolen grain from the occupied Zaporizhzhia region and loading it onto ships; intense battles for Bakhmut and Marinka are ongoing; the enemy is also using glider aerial bombs in the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions
The AFU General Staff reported this on April 24.
This indicates that the Russian occupiers persist in their efforts to rob the Ukrainian civilian population by seizing the grain harvest. In Berdyansk, the occupation authorities are attempting to take the stolen grain by loading it onto enemy cargo ships.
The General Staff notes that medical workers with Russian passports in Berdyansk are being forced to register for military service.
The occupiers reportedly face a severe shortage of medical personnel on the battlefield, which has led to the enlistment of local workers from Berdyansk medical institutions, who received Russian citizenship, to force the enemy to register for military service. Those who refuse are threatened with the loss of their jobs.
Throughout the day, the enemy conducted 1 missile and 46 air strikes, utilizing air bombs in four regions
The Russian Federation continues to disregard International Humanitarian Law, causing terror among civilians and demolishing residential buildings and critical infrastructure.
On April 23, the enemy launched one missile and carried out 46 air strikes, including about 60 MLRS attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. The Russian Federation is using its aviation fleet, deploying glider aerial bombs in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, resulting in casualties and injuries among the civilian population, as well as the destruction and damage of private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.
The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine's entire territory remains high.
The Armed Forces repulsed about 60 Russian attacks in three directions
The enemy is still attacking in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. The AFU repulsed about 60 Russian attacks in these areas.
The fiercest battles for Bakhmut and Marinka are ongoing.
Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Russia continues to keep a certain number of its troops in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine.
At the same time, the Russian Federation continued shelling the entire line of contact with mortars and artillery: one settlement in the Chernihiv region, four more in the Sumy region, as well as six villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked.
Shelling of Ukrainian regions
In the Kupiansk direction, 9 settlements in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions came under shelling.
In the Lyman direction, no offensive was recorded, 7 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions were subjected to artillery shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, fierce fighting for the fortress city continues. 11 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces, and the enemy unsuccessfully tried to advance near three settlements.
In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army suffered heavy losses trying to attack two areas, and shelled 8 towns and villages of the Donetsk region.
In the Marinka direction, the AFU repelled multiple attacks; 6 settlements of the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.
In the Vuhledar direction, no offensive was recorded; the invading Russian troops attacked 6 settlements in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 40 cities and villages were subjected to Russian artillery shelling. Russians are still on the defensive.
The Defense Forces successfully took down 10 drones and targeted 3 Russian electronic warfare stations
Yesterday, the Aviation Unit of the Defense Forces launched 14 strikes on the enemy's positions. Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down two Merlin type and one Orlan-10 type reconnaissance UAVs, as well as eight Lancet type kamikaze drones.
