Russia accuses British Navy of blowing up Nord Stream gas pipelines
On Saturday, October 29, 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defense accused the British navy personnel of "planning, organizing and carrying out terrorist attack" on underwater part of the Nord Stream pipelines
This is announced in the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regarding the drone attack on the bay of temporarily occupied Sevastopol (Crimea, Ukraine).
According to the Russian officials, "British experts" also helped the Ukrainian forces to attack Sevastopol Bay from the air.
"According to the obtained data, the UK Navy representatives took part in planning, organizing and carrying out the terrorist act in the Baltic Sea on September 26, 2022 to blow up the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines," Russian Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
In turn, the UK’s Ministry of Defence said the accusations made up by Russia were "false claims of an epic scale.”
“To detract from their disastrous handling of the illegal invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defence is resorting to peddling false claims of an epic scale. This invented story, says more about arguments going on inside the Russian government than it does about the west,” the British ministry of defence wrote on Twitter.
