Romanian Foreign Ministry rejects Putin's statement about Bucharest's encroachment on Ukraine's territory
Romania's foreign ministry has reacted to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's accusations of territorial claims to Ukraine
This is reported by Agerpres.ro publication.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry rejected Putin's words in a speech on November 4 that Poland, Romania and Hungary seek to return the territories of Ukraine that Stalin took away from them after World War II.
Bucharest stressed that such statements falsely suggest the idea of Romania's territorial claims to Ukraine.
"Romania reaffirms its support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders," the Romanian Foreign Ministry said.
They also stressed that the "war of conquest" unleashed by Russia on February 24 is a "serious and gross violation" of the principles of international law, in particular, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
