Romania and Ukraine will shoot down Russian missiles flying at Chisinau – former Moldova’s Defense Minister
Attempted missile attacks on Moldova cannot be ruled out – missiles will be shot down by air defenses of Ukraine and Romania
This was stated by Moldova’s former Defense Minister Anatol Salaru on Espreso TV.
"Missile strikes on Moldova are possible, we do not rule anything out, because Russia is led by mentally ill people. They can do anything. We are talking about the fact that Ukraine can shoot down more than half of the missiles, and Romania can do it too, as there is a NATO base here. There are radars that can track these missiles from the moment they are launched and can shoot them down," he said.
Salaru believes that Romania will shoot down the missiles flying to Moldova.
"More than half of them will be shot down by Ukraine's air defense, the rest by Romanian and NATO air defense. We can expect any action, but it will not help them, as it did not help in Ukraine. Unfortunately, Moldova does not have its own modern air defense system that will shoot down these missiles," the Moldovan ex-minister concluded.
