Residents of Melitopol again went to the rally against the Russian invaders
Residents of Melitopol on Saturday, March 5, went to a peaceful rally against the occupation of the city by the Russian aggressor.
Ivan Fedorov, mayor of Melitopol, announced this on the air of the Rada TV channel, Ukrinform reports with reference to Suspilne.
“Residents of Melitopol go to pro-Ukrainian rallies every day, this is probably the fourth rally, today there will be another rally. There was one incident at a rally when a Russian military fired at a protester, after which I appealed to the residents of our city not to approach the military. Every day more and more residents gather who want to defend their rights to life in Melitopol", Fedorov said.
He also noted that the city has now a big problem with food.
“The city of Melitopol is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe, for several reasons. Firstly, the cities are running out of food and, most importantly, medicines that are urgently needed for patients. No matter how many times we applied to the military, we were denied the construction of a humanitarian corridor. We must safely bring food, fuel, medicines to the city, but this is not the case”, the head of the city said.
Earlier it was reported that due to the complicated communication between Zaporizhzhya and Melitopol, residents with rare diseases cannot receive the necessary medicines.
On March 1, in Melitopol, people staged a peaceful rally, preventing Russian vehicles from passing through, and then trying to push them with hands. Melitopol residents arrange such protest actions every day.
