Over 3,000 Polish firms join Ukraine's reconstruction efforts
Over 3,000 Polish companies are already involved in Ukraine's reconstruction projects, but Kyiv is interested in expanding cooperation and further investments
Ukraine's Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko said this during a meeting with a Polish delegation headed by Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Paszyk.
The parties discussed deepening economic cooperation, steps to attract investment into the Ukrainian economy, and the participation of Polish businesses in Ukraine's reconstruction projects.
According to Svyrydenko, Kyiv is interested in further participation of Polish businesses in reconstruction, as well as Polish investments.
"Today, more than 3,000 Polish companies are already participating in Ukraine's reconstruction projects, and every tenth new business registered in Poland in 2024 was created by Ukrainian citizens. This indicates close economic relationships. However, the potential for deepening cooperation remains extremely large. Ukraine is interested in greater involvement of private Polish businesses in working with Ukrainian manufacturers and in Polish investments in our economy," the official said.
The parties agreed to organize a series of separate meetings during which investment opportunities in priority sectors will be presented to Polish businesses, as well as government programs to promote and support investments that are currently in place in Ukraine.
In January 2024, Poland appointed a commissioner for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
