At the core of the agreement is an investment of €17 million, which will be directed toward the construction of a modern multifunctional school hub in the Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr as part of the School of the Future for Ukraine project, developed by Italian and Ukrainian architects.
The construction of the school will become the first educational project in Ukraine created according to the principles of the New European Bauhaus (NEB).
The memorandum also provides for the allocation of €3 million for the installation of solar energy systems for schools and kindergartens. The systems will be installed in 14 educational institutions in the Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Chernivtsi regions.
An additional one million euros from Lithuania and Taiwan will be directed to support the Catch-up and STEAM program in the Odesa region, developed by CPVA and the Ukrainian partner savED.
The program is aimed at overcoming educational losses caused by prolonged distance learning. The project provides for additional lessons for students who are behind in the curriculum, as well as STEAM classes for students with higher performance.
