Putin’s war nears Poland, FM says after Russian drone hits Polish-owned factory

A Polish-owned factory in Vinnytsia was damaged during a Russian drone strike on the night of July 16

Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski wrote about the incident on social media platform X.

"Russian drones hit the Barlinek Group factory in Vinnytsia. The factory director just told me it was a targeted attack from three directions," Sikorski posted.

He added that Polish consular staff are now on-site, working with Ukrainian emergency services.

"Putin’s criminal war is getting closer to our borders," Sikorski wrote.

  • On the night of July 16, Russia launched a drone attack on Ukraine. Civilian infrastructure in Vinnytsia was hit. According to regional officials, eight people were hospitalized. Five suffered serious to moderate burns.
