Ursula von der Leyen reports in an interview with CNN.
"Putin is now showing his weakness," Von der Leyen believes. "He is trying to mobilize personnel who are less trained, less experienced, less motivated. He wants to start sham referendums on Ukrainian sovereign land. Therefore, I think this again requires sanctions from our side."
In her opinion, already implemented sanctions are very successful. They create difficult times for the Russian economy, for the Russian military industry.
New sanctions may apply to individuals inside and outside Russia who support aggression politically and economically. It is also about the strengthening of general economic and technological restrictions.
