Putin to announce general mobilization in Russia – political expert Eidman
Igor Eidman, a Russian sociologist, political expert, journalist and publicist, believes that general mobilization in Russia will be announced during or after a successful Ukrainian counteroffensive, but it will be too late to have any significant impact
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
“Putin's bloody adventure with the invasion of Ukraine was supposed to be carried out by some specialists and professional military in the form of a 'special military operation' with a time limit. However, this entire scenario has flown and collapsed with a bang. Because Putin has a characteristic that is inherent in many inadequate people - he is unable to adapt to the changing reality. Putin has a super-idea, like all paranoid people, and no matter what happens outside, he will not give it up,” the political expert commented.
Igor Eidman added that Putin is categorically unable, unwilling and unable to wage an all-out war, which is already underway between Russia and Ukraine.
“Among other things, this affects the situation with mobilization. All military experts, even Russian ones, say that it is impossible to wage any war without mobilization, and that the autumn mobilization did not close all the holes on the front that we see now in the Belgorod region. But Putin continues to play this 'special operation' and does not want to admit that there is a total war going on. He is still playing the game he has already lost. Of course, Russia will announce a general mobilization, but it will happen too late to have a significant impact on anything. In my opinion, it will be announced during or after a successful Ukrainian counteroffensive. Then, when it becomes obvious that without mobilization, they not only cannot defend what they have seized, but even their borders. But then it will be too late,” Eidman summarized.
