Putin thinks blocking Ukrainian sea ports will make western Ukraine surrender - Portnikov

Author and journalist Vitaliy Portnikov argues that, unless Ukraine's marine ports are liberated, millions of people in developing countries will face famine - as soon as this Autumn. He says this could cause further waves of mass migration.

He expressed this prediction in the Expresso air interview.

He emphasized that if the Ukrainian sea ports will not be freed, this Autumn the hunger will make thousands of people go out and destroy governments, opening opportunities for radical Islam organizations to reinforce their positions and take over one province after another, creating problems for the governments that were considered stable before.

Another potential problem he highlighted is that hunger might make people living in third-world countries emigrate to Europe.

“A lot of third-world countries will be in a state of war and new conflicts. Millions of people might start driving, sailing and by any other means getting to European countries, and will face the infrastructure that’s already weakened with the constant flow of Ukrainian refugees… This is an apocalyptic crisis, and Putin is behind all of this.”
