Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on spring conscription. 147,000 Russians are to join the army from April 1 to July 15

"Putin signed a decree on spring conscription, according to which 147 thousand people will be called up to the Russian Armed Forces from April 1 to July 15," the report says.
People aged 18 to 27 will be drafted. Russian media note that this year's conscription is larger than in previous years - last year 134,500 people joined the Russian army in the spring and 120,000 in the fall.

Ukrainian intelligence has reported that Russia is conducting a covert mobilization, recruiting several tens of thousands of people a month to fight in the war with Ukraine.
