Putin refused to communicate with Pope four times
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Vatican Andriy Yurash believes that the Pope is trying to implement his strategy of cooperation with Russia
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The Pope's visit to Hungary was symptomatic, but nothing extraordinary happened during this visit. The Pope outlined the basic points of the Vatican's position on issues related to the war in Ukraine. The Pope is trying to implement his strategy of engagement with Russia. The desire to establish communication through the Russian Orthodox Church has been confirmed," noted Yurash.
According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Vatican, the Pope has no other option to reach out to the Russian mentality, to the Russian Federation.
"Of course, for us, this is the church of the aggressor country. This is the church that blesses the killing of thousands of our people. But for the Pope, there is no other option to reach out to the Russian mentality, to the Russian Federation. The Pope has tried to communicate with Putin many times, and he has spoken about this. Through the Secretary of State, Italian Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Putin refused to communicate with the Pope four times," Yurash emphasized.
