Putin ready to lose 100,000 soldiers a month – military expert Svitan

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"Russia has only one option left – to turn the war into a protracted phase, relying on the resources it has. The Kremlin can sacrifice more than 100,000 mobilized Russian soldiers a year. It is now clear that they can throw 100,000 soldiers to the slaughter every month. This is a truly endless resource in Russia. Because 100,000 is not a big number for such a country. This is one person per 1000 people. No one even notices these victims in Russia," explained Svitan.

The military expert emphasized that Ukraine needs more weapons to defend itself against the Russian army.

"Russia has enough human resources. That is why Putin will rely on these capabilities. This is quite dangerous for Ukraine and the world. We will not be able to destroy the entire Russian army with the military means we have now," he added.

• On February 8, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost at least 134,100 troops, 3,253 tanks and 295 aircraft in Ukraine.
