"Putin jacked around Trump": Sen. Kennedy calls for stronger U.S. response against Russia
Republican Senator John Kennedy said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin deceived U.S. President Donald Trump and should be made to understand that the U.S. is ready to turn him and Russia “into fish food”
He said this on Fox News Sunday.
“Putin has reneged on every promise that he has made to President Trump. His latest proposal is, well, nothing. He wants to keep all the territory that he's taken,” Kennedy said.
He also believes that Putin thinks the U.S. is afraid of Russia.
“He has jacked around President Trump at every turn. He has disrespected our president. I don't think it's going to get any better until we make it clear to Mr. Putin that we are willing to turn him and his country into fish food,” the Republican senator emphasized.
The politician stressed that they need to “get Russia down and choke them,” or it will not come to the negotiating table. He also added that Europe must do more regarding defense spending.
“But mainly, we've got to make Putin understand that there is a price to be paid for his jacking our president around,” Kennedy said.
- On April 26, U.S. President Donald Trump, after a personal conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the funeral of Pope Francis, issued a statement sharply criticizing Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
