Putin isn't preparing for peace, but preparing for more war – Stoltenberg
At the Bucharest Nine summit in Warsaw, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Moscow is not ready for peace and “this cycle of Russian aggression” must be broken
The NATO Secretary General is quoted by Sky News.
Jens Stoltenberg told the allies that they could not allow Russia to continue to "chip away" at European security. In particular, he argued that a year after the invasion, Putin is not preparing for peace, but "preparing for more war."
The Secretary General of the Alliance called for providing Ukraine with the support it needs to win and then ensuring that this does not happen again.
“We have seen the Russian pattern of aggression over many years,” he says, pointing to Georgia, Crimea and the Donbas. “We cannot allow Russia to continue to chip away at European security. We must break this cycle of Russian aggression.”
Jens Stoltenberg also said that NATO allies have never been more united and will defend every inch of partner territory.
