Putin is looking for scapegoats to pin the blame for defeat in war
American political scientist Ramis Yunus believes that Putin is trying to maintain a balance between power and the criminal structures of the Russian Federation.
He said this live on air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Putin personally wants to maintain a balance amid what is happening between Kremlin towers. Between power structures (FSB and Russian Ministry of Defense), as well as between the Ministry of Defense and criminal structures, such as Prigozhin and Kadyrov. For this, Lapin was first reinstated in his position. Gerasimov was also thrown there, and he is the second person in the Russian Ministry of Defense. Shoigu cannot be thrown, as he is personally close to Putin and is not a military personnel. Here they want to maintain the symbiosis of the chief of staff and operational military commander, which is Surovikin," Yunus explained.
According to the military expert, Putin is trying to maintain a balance in power structures so that there is no possibility of internal coup and conspiracies.
"If tomorrow in the Russian Federation it is necessary to look for the culprit, then it will be done precisely among the military or among criminals. All these failures will have to be blamed on someone. At the same time, they will need not small scapegoats, but noble ones - chiefs of staff, several elite generals. It cannot be Putin himself to blame, politicians should be distanced. If we do not prepare for this, do not take preventive actions, then everything can shake up from the inside, which will hit political power in the Kremlin," Yunus added.
