Putin despises West, he considers it weak - Ukrainian diplomat Klimkin
Diplomat, former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin believes that Putin will not change his strategy and tactics, he will go to the end
He expressed this opinion in the Verdict with Serhiy Rudenko program on Espreso TV channel.
"Putin has practically no allies, they can be counted on the fingers of one hand - Kim Jong-un, Lukashenko, Iran, Nicaragua, Eritrea. I do not see any more allies who will follow Russia to the end. I am concerned about the countries that want to stay away. Those who want Ukraine and Russia to reconcile so that the economy becomes better for them. In the West we have a better situation. The West understands that if Putin gets at least a partial victory in Ukraine, it will be a loss for the West in the XXI century," Klimkin said.
According to the diplomat, Putin despises the West, he considers it weak. Now Putin is beginning to understand that he was wrong, but this will not change his strategy and tactics, he will go to the end.
"Putin has not changed any of his goals for Ukraine - the destruction of Ukrainian statehood and the Ukrainian nation. He knows that if there is no Ukraine, there is no problem. I am categorically against any concessions. There are people in the West who are ready to support us to the end, but there are also those who are ready to play politics. They are afraid of escalation, that the control will leave their hands. In Asia, there are countries that already understand that Russia's behaviour today, tomorrow can turn into a similar behaviour of China. In Africa and Latin America, the situation is much more complicated. We need to work with each country there," Klimkin noted.
