Defense Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets believes that the bridgehead on the left bank of the Kherson region is extremely promising for the Armed Forces at the operational and tactical level

Zgurets shared his views on Espreso.

"The bridgehead maintained by our marines on the left bank of the Kherson Oblast is crucial from both operational and tactical perspectives. Operating in this area is challenging for our marines due to the constant need for supplies across the Dnipro River," he stated.

Zgurets highlighted the impact of Defense Forces activity.

"The losses inflicted by our units on the enemy significantly influence the ongoing hostilities on the left bank of the Kherson region. The enemy is compelled to sustain a substantial troop presence due to our units' actions. Additionally, the Russians cannot predict the future dynamics, as securing the Dnipro crossing becomes increasingly challenging for us. Despite these challenges, considering our unit's objectives, this bridgehead remains highly promising," he pointed out.

  • As of December 18, the Armed Forces General Staff confirmed the elimination of 347,160 invaders. On the last day, there were 105 combat clashes at the front between Russian invaders and Ukrainian defenders. The Armed Forces successfully thwarted multiple enemy attacks in six directions.
  • On December 19, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated that Russian troops are moving forward in the Kupyansk, Lyman, and Bakhmut directions to capture new settlements in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.
