Prigozhin may be preparing coup d'etat in Belarus - representative of United Transitional Cabinet Kovalevsky
Foreign Affairs Representative of the Belarusian United Transitional Cabinet Valery Kovalevsky believes that the leader of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin may be preparing a coup d'état in Belarus.
He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
"Prigozhin may become part of the Kremlin's plan to seize power in Belarus. He may be preparing a coup d'état against Lukashenko and launch a more powerful campaign to deepen Belarus' ties with Russia. After all, although Prigozhin and his PMC are mercenaries, they are controlled by the FSB. Therefore, they will be guided solely by the Kremlin's interests. Prigozhin can implement Putin's plans for Belarus. Including a possible seizure of power in Belarus," Kovalevsky explained.
On Friday, 23 June, Russian troops allegedly launched a missile attack on the Wagner PMC base. Wagner's leader Yevgeny Prigozhin said that 25,000 mercenaries were coming to deal with Sergei Shoigu. Read more about the events here.
On the evening of Saturday, June 24, 2023, the Telegram channel Pul Pervogo, which is close to the administration of the self-proclaimed president of the Republic of Belarus, published a text from the press service of Alexander Lukashenko that Prigozhin agreed to stop the movement of convoys to Moscow
