Prigozhin did not oppose Putin, there are other more likely scenarios for power change in Russia – British colonel Grant
Glen Grant, a retired colonel of the British army and a military expert, believes that the Kremlin's power change could be initiated by certain individuals, if some forces in Russia are not prepared for it
He stated this on Espreso.
“Prigozhin expressed his concerns about the weakness of the Russian army in the fight against Ukraine, but he didn't oppose Putin directly. It wasn't a coup against Putin; otherwise, he would have been removed already. If there was such information, the leader of the Wagner Group would have been killed earlier, preventing this rebellion. When we consider the possibility of a power change, either through military means or otherwise, there is a chance that someone from Putin's inner circle or friend list might take action, leading to various scenarios,” he said.
According to Grant, the Kremlin's power change could be initiated by certain individuals, if some forces in Russia are not prepared for it.
