Previously unreported drone missile Bars revealed by Ukraine

In 2024, Ukraine developed a previously unreported drone missile called Bars

This was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin during the "Ukrainian Weapons 2024" briefing, reports LIGA.net.

"In 2024, we created cruise missiles and a completely new class of missiles — drone missiles. These are Palyanytsia, Peklo, Ruta, and Bars," he said.

Later, the Ministry of Strategic Industry confirmed to LIGA.net that Bars is a new Ukrainian drone missile. However, no further details have been disclosed so far, the ministry added.

At the same briefing, Smetanin also noted that while Ukraine produced only one type of cruise missile — Neptune — in 2023, in 2024 "a lot of new products" appeared, boosting production by eight times compared to the previous year.

Senior Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Strategic Issues, Oleksandr Kamyshin, said that Ukraine has received the full technical documentation for the production of FrankenSAM air defense systems and can now manufacture them independently.
