President Zelenskyy implemented NSDC decision on sanctions against Russia's nuclear industry
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, implemented the decision of the NSDC regarding sanctions against Russia's nuclear industry: Russian Rosatom and others
This is stated in the decree published on the President’s website.
"Today we take a new step in sanctioning a terrorist state. The NSDC decision regarding sanctions against Russia's nuclear industry has been put into effect. This is not the last decision regarding this industry. We want to support the efforts of our diplomats and expand global sanctions on this aspect of the Russian aggression machine," Zelenskyy said in his evening address.
He emphasized that Russia is the only country in the world that allows its military to attack nuclear plants and use nuclear power plants as a cover for attacks, and the agressor’s missiles have repeatedly followed trajectories over the nuclear facilities of Ukraine.
Another reason for the sanctions, according to Zelenskyy, is the fact that Russia uses the nuclear industry as an element of external expansion to put pressure on other states.
The website of the President of Ukraine published a list of 200 legal entities that have been sanctioned for 50 years. Among them are Rosatom, its subsidiaries, a number of institutes, research centers and plants.
