Poroshenko proposes international plan to force Putin into peace: sky under control, land lease, second front, and "Marshall Plan"
The fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proposed a plan to achieve peace in Ukraine.
This was reported by the official website of the European Solidarity party.
Poroshenko noted that he also sent his proposals to President Zelensky, and also presented it to Western allies, including EPP President Donald Tusk.
"We called this plan 'Forcing Putin and Russia to make peace,'" Petro Poroshenko said.
Poroshenko's plan provides for:
1. Law on Land Lease. "The West's assistance to Ukraine in defense needs to be increased and systematized. Every state that helps Ukraine must pass a land lease law, similar to the US Lend-Lease Act of 1941, which authorizes the national government to supply a protecting country. itself from the aggressor, the necessary materials, including, but not limited to, food and ammunition, tanks and jet fighters, anti-tank and anti-aircraft systems without violating the position of neutrality of any country", - said Poroshenko.
2. The sky under control. It would be expedient to provide Ukraine with the necessary tools to keep its skies under control by Ukrainian means. It is extremely important to immediately transfer to Ukraine MiG-29 aircraft available in NATO countries, as well as air defense systems (such as ground-to-air). S-300 air defense, which would help Ukraine to close the skies on its own. In the future, Ukraine may be transferred to more complex air defense systems. At the same time, training programs for Ukrainian specialists on the use of these systems can be launched today”, - the fifth president said.
3. Second Front, Western. "The Western Second Front must now include everything but soldiers. Every day, if Putin does not withdraw his troops, we need new sanctions. Sanctions must become even more infernal, curb Russia's aggressive potential. Because the real hell, unfortunately, is still in Ukraine. "And the cornerstone of these sanctions should be a complete energy embargo. Because only from Europe to Russia and only for oil and gas every hour $ 50 million is transferred to Putin, and then spent on killing Ukrainians," - stressed Poroshenko.
4. Marshall Plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine. "We need to start developing a systemic plan for Ukraine's immediate reconstruction. We are proposing a tripartite US-EU-British plan or the so-called Biden-Michel-Johnson Plan for Ukraine, which would be open to other countries, especially the Group of Seven." I hope Johnson would be the first to respond to such an initiative," Poroshenko said.
5. Accelerated integration of Ukraine into the European Union. "Ukraine's application for EU membership must be processed immediately. The European Commission must quickly submit an opinion to the European Council for approval of Ukraine's candidate status following EU law. With the political will of EU leaders, there is a possibility to start pre-accession talks by the end of 2022 ", - the leader of "European Solidarity” is convinced.
"A number of these steps are already being implemented. We have written it as a holistic, comprehensive, unified plan in terms of the main priorities that Ukraine now needs to stop the Russian aggression. We are ready to use our ties to help Ukrainian diplomats implement this plan", - stressed Petro Poroshenko.
