Polish helicopter allegedly violates Belarus border, Ukraine's State Border Guard Service responds
Ukrainian border guards have issued a statement regarding an incident near Belarus where a Polish helicopter allegedly crossed the border. The State Border Guard Service does not rule out that it could be a false flag "provocation" operation
Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said this during a telethon.
"It is noteworthy that Belarus is constantly escalating or manipulating in different directions of the border and with the countries it borders. We need to be careful what Belarus says, accusing different countries," the border guard said.
As for the Ukrainian border, the State Border Guard Service does not record any attempts to create a provocation by Belarus.
"Despite everything, the units of the Border Guard Service and other defense forces are well aware of how dangerous the situation with Belarus, which supports Russia, can be. Therefore, they are ready for any situation," noted Demchenko.
The spokesman mentioned the problem with migrants trying to get to the EU through the border of Belarus. He emphasized that migrants arrive from Belarusian territory and illegally make their way to Poland and the Baltic states, while Lukashenko's regime continues to blame the West.
What is known about the incident on the border of Poland and Belarus
On September 1, Belarus said that a Polish Mi-24 military helicopter had violated its airspace. It allegedly flew to a depth of 1200 meters into the territory of Belarus and returned.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry said it demanded "appropriate explanations and a thorough investigation of the incident" from the Polish side.
Poland, for its part, denied the accusations. The spokesman for the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces, Jacek Goryszewski, called Belarus' statements "lies and provocations."
