Polish Foreign Ministry warns that Putin counts on fatigue as factor in Ukraine war
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz has said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is relying on Western fatigue from Russia's war against Ukraine.
PAP reported the news.
According to him, it is now in Vladimir Putin's interest for the Western world to deal with other issues and for society to get tired of the war in Ukraine.
"It is in Vladimir Putin's interest to calm the resonance around this war so that he can continue to carry out his evil, revisionist plans," Przydacz said.
He promised not to allow the West to weaken its attention to the war in Ukraine.
"It is clear that with each passing week and month certain things will become familiar to the public, unfortunately, and the war, the farther from the Ukrainian borders, the more. But we are actively working to prevent politicians and diplomats from preventing this and informing the public about what is happening in Ukraine. We must actively counteract any possible fatigue, because the war in Ukraine continues. People die there every day, children and women die every day, infrastructure is destroyed every day," minister added.
He also stressed that the current sanctions against Russia are not strong enough.
"Six packages of sanctions are really hitting the Russian economy, but that's not enough. Additional sanctions are needed, they are appropriate, we are working on them. I hope that they will also be adopted at the G7 level, not only by the EU but also by other Euro-Atlantic partners, the United States and Japan," minister concluded.
