
Poland's PM Tusk to visit Turkey for talks on Ukraine and European security
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk leaves for a two-day visit to Turkey, where he is scheduled to hold talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
RMF24 reported the information.
During a press conference before his departure, Tusk said that he and Erdogan would discuss, among other things, Ukraine and security in Europe.
The head of the Polish government emphasized that the issue of Ukraine is “of paramount importance in terms of Poland's interests and our security.”
"And from our point of view, it is very important that NATO countries and European countries effectively guarantee stability after a truce and peace on the Russian-Ukrainian border. And Turkey's role here could be decisive," he noted.
Tusk also added that he would discuss with the Turkish president the roles of Poland and Turkey in ensuring regional stability, the outcomes of negotiations between Ukrainian and U.S. delegations in Saudi Arabia, and the possible involvement of both Turkey and Poland in securing lasting peace in the region, including on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
