Ukrainian, Polish FMs discuss Starlink operation after dispute with Musk
The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Poland discussed the operation of American Starlink satellites in Ukraine during Andrii Sybiha's visit to Warsaw
Onet reported the information, according to European Pravda.
During the press conference, Sybiha noted that an important outcome of the discussions with the United States in Jeddah was the resumption of arms deliveries from Rzeszów.
"I understand that Starlink is also working?" Polish FM Radosław Sikorski asked the Ukrainian minister.
"Yes. We are grateful for the payment and the opportunity to use Starlink, as Poland has spent about 200 million dollars on this. This is very important for our military," said Andrii Sybiha.
Background
Radosław Sikorski became embroiled in a dispute with Elon Musk and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The conflict began when Musk warned that if he shut down Starlink, the entire Ukrainian front would collapse.
In response, Sikorski pointed out that the Polish government is funding Starlink for Ukraine and questioned the reliability of the service provider given Musk's threat.
Rubio then accused Sikorski of fabricating the situation, claiming that "no one has threatened to cut Ukraine off from Starlink."
Ultimately, after the back-and-forth on X, Musk clarified that he would never disconnect Starlink for the Ukrainian military, even if he disagreed with Ukraine's policies.
