Poland starts producing tanks in cooperation with South Korea
On March 2, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak announced the launch of production of South Korean K2 tanks at a plant in Poznań

“Here, at the Military Automobile Plant (WZM) in Poznań, K2 tanks will be serviced, overhauled and produced. This is good information for Poznań... These are additional new jobs, it is the preservation of those jobs that were created at WZM,” Błaszczak said.
The production of tanks became possible after an agreement was signed with South Korea last year, which provides for the transfer of not only machines but also production technologies, including the hydropneumatic chassis used in the K2.

In August 2022, Poland signed an agreement with South Korea to purchase tanks, self-propelled howitzers, and ammunition worth about USD 5.8 billion.
