Poland, NATO allies conduct military exercises near border with Russia's Kaliningrad region
From March 27 to March 31, Poland, together with NATO allies, will conduct military exercises in the Vistula Spit, bordering the Kaliningrad region of Russia

The Armed Forces of Poland, together with allied forces, will conduct the Zalew-2023 exercise on March 27 to 31.
The 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division, Territorial Defense Forces, Engineer Forces, Polish Navy, and a NATO battalion group will take part in the training.
The spokesperson for the Mechanized Division, Magdalena Koscinska, said that this is the largest exercise of 2023 involving this military unit.
The military exercises will involve 2,500 Polish and foreign soldiers, about 500 pieces of equipment and watercraft.
In addition to the Vistula Spit, the exercise will involve the military port in Gdynia, the 22nd Tactical Aviation Base in Malbork, and the training center in Modrzewina.
The main component of the training will be the crossing of the Vistula Spit by Polish and NATO allied units with the support of engineer troops.
They will also practice repelling a terrorist attack with hostage-taking, reconnaissance in the Gulf of Gdansk and the Vistula Spit, and actions in the event of chemical contamination of the territory.
