Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Naď wrote about this on Facebook.
"At a meeting of EU defense ministers in Sweden on Wednesday, my Polish counterpart confirmed to me that his country would agree to a joint approach by Slovakia and Poland to transfer surplus MiG-29 fighters from both countries to Ukraine. The President of Poland also confirmed his country's readiness to do so in an interview with CNN," Jaroslav Nad’ said, emphasizing that now it is time for the Slovak government to make a decision.
At the same time, the head of the Polish President's Office, Paweł Szrot, said on Radio Plus that Warsaw is ready to deliver a small number of combat aircraft to Ukraine.
“If we are talking about the transfer of aircraft by Poland, it will be a small number. It will definitely not match the number of Leopards delivered,” he said.
“We will certainly do this in a broader international coalition,” the head of the Polish President's Office added.
On February 20, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that the decision to provide Ukraine with fighter jets could be made by the allies in the next one to two months.
Amid new appeals to Western countries to provide fighter jets, Slovakia is considering providing Ukraine with 10 of its 11 MiG-29 aircraft.
And Polish President Andrzej Duda has emphasized the need to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters.
