Part of Russian troops withdrawn from Kherson may be redeployed near Bakhmut - British intelligence
The Russian command may transfer part of the troops withdrawn from Kherson to strengthen the group that is attacking Bakhmut, Donetsk region
This is reported by British intelligence.
It was noted there that after withdrawing to the left bank of the Dnipro river, Russian troops are strengthening their positions in most areas in Ukraine, they have built new trench systems near the border with occupied Crimea, as well as near the Siverskyi Donets river between the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
It is noted that some of these defensive lines are located 60 km behind the front line, which indicates that the Russians are preparing for a further counteroffensive of the Armed Forces.
In addition, British intelligence believes that the Russian Federation will transfer part of the troops to the Bakhmut area.
"It is likely that Russia will attempt to eventually redeployed some of the forces recovered from Kherson to reinforce and expand its offensive operations near the town of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast," the report said.
