Over 80% of Ukrainians support joining EU, 71% back joining NATO - survey
The survey was conducted from July 6 to July 20 among adult citizens who lived in Ukraine at the time of the survey.
These are survey results of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
According to the data, if there is a referendum on joining the European Union, 81% of all respondents are ready to vote "for" joining.
Only 4% of respondents are "against" joining the EU. The other 15% would not vote or do not know how to vote.
At the same time, 71% of Ukrainians would vote "for" joining the NATO Alliance, only 7% would vote "against". Another 22% say that they would not participate in voting or do not know how to vote.
Accordingly, among the respondents who would have participated in the referendum, there would have been 96% "yes" votes in the EU accession referendum, and 91% "yes" votes in the NATO accession referendum.
As the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology reports, there is a certain tendency to decrease support for joining the EU and NATO from the West to the East. However, at the same time, in all regions, the majority of the population would vote "for" joining both the EU and NATO.
