Old Lion Publishing House will reissue Volodymyr Vakulenko's book to support his family
Daddy's Book written by Volodymyr Vakulenko, a children’s author killed by Russian troops in Izyum, is to be republished in Lviv
Maryana Savka, the head of the Old Lion Publishing House, announced the re-release.
"Until the last moment, I held on to hope that Volodymyr Vakulenko was alive. We had wanted to republish his Daddy's Book for a long time, but we hoped that Volodymyr would be alive and would sign the reissue contract himself. Today I spoke on the phone with his mother Olena and we agreed that the book will go to print as soon as possible. We, the publishing house, want to support at least in this way the Vakulenko family and, above all, Vitalik, who has lost his father, who loves him more than anything. But the poems, dedicated to him by his father, will live forever," wrote Maryana Savka.
At the end of March, 2022, Russian troops, who captured the village of Kapytolivka, Izyum district, Kharkiv region, illegally detained the Ukrainian writer, author of 13 books, Volodymyr Vakulenko, who had been volunteering for a long time.
On November 28, it was unveiled that the body of Volodymyr Vakulenko was found in one of the graves at the mass burial site in Izyum.
