Offensive from Belarus to cut supply routes of Western weapons is unlikely - Ukrainian diplomat Bezsmertnyi
Diplomat Roman Bezsmertny believes that the Russian and Belarusian armies do not plan to repeat the attack on the Kyiv, Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions
He expressed this opinion on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"From the reports that are made about tactical operations to cut off the supply lines of Western weapons to the territory of Ukraine, in my opinion, this direction is unlikely. Since the geographical features in the North of Ukraine are very uncomfortable for offensive operations. Moreover, neither Russia nor Belarus have enough equipment for such an offensive," Bezsmertnyi explained.
The diplomat is convinced that the Russian Federation will try to repeat the attack from Belarus on the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions.
"At the same time, the most dangerous direction remains in the area of Kyiv region, Chernihiv region and part of Zhytomyr region. In fact, this is also what we saw in February last year. This is the first threat that accumulates and it is quite real," he added.
- On January 8, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced the holding of joint flight tactical exercises with Russia from January 16 to February 1.
