Occupying Russian forces in Luhansk region threaten to confiscate homes from Ukrainians who refuse Russian passports - General Staff

In Starobilsk, Luhansk region, hospital workers are threatened with confiscation of their homes and deportation if they refuse to take Russian passports.

This is stated in the evening report of the General Staff for 9 July.

It is noted that the Russian occupiers issued 3-month resident cards of the Russian Federation to all employees of the Starobilsk multidisciplinary hospital who did not receive a Russian passport.

"At the same time, they are threatened that if they do not receive Russian documents within this period, they will be deported from the temporarily occupied territory with confiscation of their housing," the statement said.

Over the course of the day, units of rocket troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck 2 areas of concentration of Russian manpower and equipment

Also, these types of troops destroyed 2 artillery pieces at firing positions and 2 electronic warfare stations of the Russian invaders.

In turn, the aviation of the defence forces carried out one strike on the area of concentration of enemy personnel over the day.

The Russian forces carried out 27 air strikes and fired 37 MLRS attacks during the day

There are dead and wounded among the civilian population, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed.

Russian enemy is focusing its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, and heavy fighting continues. There were 27 combat engagements over the last day.

The situation in the Northern Ukrainian border  remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of offensive enemy groups were detected.

The situation in other Ukrainian regions. 

In the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at about 10 localities over the past day. 

In the Kupyansk direction, our troops are holding steadfastly. Russian enemy conducted air strikes in 2 areas in Kharkiv region. 5 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Russian enemy conducted assault operations during the day and tried to force our troops out of their positions in the area west of Spirne, Donetsk region, but was unsuccessful. Russia carried out air strikes in the areas of 4 settlements in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements in Luhansk region and 4 settlements in Donetsk region came under artillery fire   

In the Bakhmut direction, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks near Dubovo-Vasylivka, Donetsk region. The enemy launched air strikes near the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultine and Pivnichne. More than 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling. 

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the area of Avdiivka. At the same time, the enemy fired artillery at more than 10 localities, 

In the Marinka direction, our defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the vicinity of Marinka under hostile artillery fire. Russian enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka, fired at more than 10 localities

In the Shakhtarsk sector, Russian enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, fired at more than 10 localities. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson sectors, Russian enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing further advance of our troops. Russia shelled more than 20 settlements. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.
