Numerous Ukrainian assaults in Donetsk region have exhausted DPR and Chechen forces
Recent numerous and regular offensive actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region have likely exhausted the forces of the so-called "DNR" and Chechen mercenaries fighting in the Krasnohorivka area, according to the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom.
British intelligence reports that recent repeated simultaneous offensive operations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas have led to the exhaustion of armed formations of the "DNR" and Chechnya, which are fighting in this area.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian paratroopers have made some progress to the east of Krasnohorivka near Donetsk, located on the old control line. According to intelligence, this has been one of the first instances since the start of the full-scale invasion where territory occupied since 2014 has been successfully liberated.
"This is one of the first instances since Russia’s February 2022 invasion that Ukrainian forces have highly likely recaptured an area of territory occupied by Russia since 2014," noted the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom.
- On June 24, Valeriy Shershen, the spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction, announced that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had officially confirmed the liberation of territories near Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region, which had been under the control of occupiers since 2014.
- On June 26, British intelligence believed that as part of a major counteroffensive, Ukraine had intensified its offensive operations around Bahmut in the Donetsk region.
- In a report on June 27, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the past day, the enemy attempted offensive actions in the Kupiansk, Bahmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted artillery units of the Russians in their firing positions, as well as areas of concentration and ammunition depots.
