Number of seriously wounded Russian soldiers rises, invading troops equip new hospital in Luhansk region – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on March 17.

In particular, it is noted that there are currently about 30 seriously wounded Russian military personnel who have been brought there over the past two days. In general, there is an increase in the number of seriously wounded Russian soldiers – evacuation trips to the territory of Russia have increased from two to three per week. Local residents who have at least some medical education are involved in the care of the wounded.

A newly created torture chamber was found in Enerhodar  

“Occupying Russian forces, with the local collaborators' active support, are increasing the number of torture chambers in the temporarily occupied and seized territories of Ukraine,” the report says. 

It is noted that the newly created torture chamber was spotted in the southeastern part of Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia region. Citizens with pro-Ukrainian views, as well as those who do not want to comply with the demands of the local occupation 'authorities', are subjected to brutal torture there.

During the day, the aggressor launched 19 airstrikes and 26 MLRS attacks

The level of missile threat remains high across Ukraine.

The Russian Federation continued shelling border areas using artillery and mortars: 3 settlements in the Sumy region, as well as over 11 towns and villages in the Kharkiv region were attacked. 

The situation in other Ukrainian south-eastern regions:

• In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the Russian troops attacked 10 settlements near the contact line. The occupying Russian forces unsuccessfully tried to advance in the direction of 3 more areas.
• In the Bakhmut direction, 9 settlements in the Donetsk region came under enemy fire. 
• In the Avdiivka, Mariinka and Shakhtarsk directions, 10 settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled.
• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, 20 cities and villages were subjected to enemy fire. 

Ukrainian aviation launched 6 strikes on the invading Russian forces' military positions

“The military aviation launched 6 strikes on the invading Russian forces' positions over the previous day,” the report says. 

• On March 17, the Russians announced that starting from the next school year, children in the temporarily occupied territories would not learn Ukrainian in schools.

• On March 17, it became known that Russian terrorists continue to loot in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
