According to the expert, Putin's nuclear blackmail is related to Russia's impasse on the battlefield.
“The statements of the Americans have put a considerable brake on this rattling of nuclear weapons, which Putin is now starting to use again. This hysteria is related to Russia's stalemate on the battlefield and an attempt to intimidate EU countries into not helping Ukraine. Once again, the Americans need to remind Putin what will happen to his country if he tries to make hints or use nuclear weapons,” Zgurets emphasized.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a storage facility for Russian tactical nuclear weapons would be completed in Belarus by July 1. In particular, he claimed that Russia had already handed over the Iskander system, which can be a nuclear weapon carrier, to Belarus.
The UN Security Council will discuss Russia's threats to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus – the meeting is scheduled to take place this week.
