Novopavlivka sector sees peak of Russian offensive actions — Ukraine’s 5th Brigade
The occupying Russian army continues active offensive operations in the Novopavlivka direction
Chief Sergeant of the Fire Support Company of Ukraine's 5th Separate Assault Brigade, Yurii Syrotiuk, shared the information on Espreso TV.
“Today, in the Novopavlivka sector, we are witnessing the peak of the Russian offensive. I speak as a soldier and report what I see. Russian forces have not stopped their attacks and continue them constantly. The Russians repeatedly attacked and tried to advance on the Pokrovsk agglomeration. When that failed, they tried to move south, where there is less urban density and fewer populated areas. That allowed them to infiltrate and shift to the Novopavlivka sector. The Russians are not acting strategically but are trying to push where they can,” Syrotiuk said.
The chief sergeant added that Russian troops keep sending small infantry groups to assault Ukrainian positions, stressing that these infantry groups are essentially suicide squads.
“The Russians use infiltration tactics with small groups, actively sending their infantry to attacks. These are essentially suicide groups. The occupiers try to advance and plant their flag anywhere,” he emphasized.
- On August 27, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that on August 26, 173 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 44 attacks.
