Norway to provide Ukraine with EUR 6.3 bln five-year military aid program
At a meeting between Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Oslo, it was announced that Ukraine would receive 75 billion Norwegian kroner
The Norwegian Foreign Affairs Ministry reported this.
“We will support Ukraine as long as necessary. As part of the Support Program for Ukraine, Norway will provide military, humanitarian and civilian assistance totaling NOK 75 billion (EUR 6.3 billion - ed.) over five years,” the Prime Minister said.
Mr. Støre emphasized that his country and other NATO members have always supported Ukraine in its fight for independence and freedom.
“NATO membership has been a cornerstone of Norwegian security policy since the Alliance's founding in 1949 and is crucial now that Europe is at war again,” the Prime Minister said, adding that developing long-term cooperation between NATO and Ukraine is an important goal.
