North Korea starts producing winter uniforms for Russian military - media
A number of factories in the DPRK are involved in sewing winter uniforms for the Russian soldiers, and raw materials for them are provided by Russia
This was reported by Radio Free Asia.
At least three factories in Pyongyang and an unspecified number elsewhere have started making uniforms for the Russian military, sources inside North Korea told Radio Free Asia.
The factories are producing uniforms, underwear and shoes, the raw materials for which are provided by Russia. The finished uniforms are sent to Russia by a freight train – via a route that began to function in early November after an eight-month pause due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The factory in Moranbong (Pyongyang) has allegedly been sewing uniforms for almost a month, in large quantities. The plausibility of this information can be evidenced by the statement of the Russian embassy in North Korea a few weeks ago that Russia is "interested in buying clothes and shoes" from North Korea.
The publication also reminds that UN Security Council Resolution 2375, adopted in September 2017 prohibits North Korea from any export of textile industry products.
The source of Radio Free Asia explained that North Korea benefits from such cooperation in order to obtain foreign currency, especially after the forced pause due to the coronavirus pandemic.
