Reuters reported the information.
In a written statement, the Pentagon said that experts are aware of the Russian president's statement about the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. They noted that they would monitor the situation.
"We have not seen any reason to adjust our own strategic nuclear posture nor any indications Russia is preparing to use a nuclear weapon. We remain committed to the collective defense of the NATO alliance," the US Department of Defense stated.
Earlier, on March 25, self-proclaimed Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that a storage facility for Russian tactical nuclear weapons would be completed in Belarus by July 1.
