No signs of Wagner withdrawal from Belarus – military expert Kovalenko

According to military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko, there have been no indications of Wagner mercenaries returning from Belarus into Russia, as suggested by some speculations

“Currently, there is no evidence of Wagner mercenaries withdrawing from Belarus back to Russia, and there have been no observed movements of sizable groups within the country,” the military expert said in a Telegram post.

The latest significant Wagner convoy was noted on August 1, entering Belarus, but no return movement has been observed.

Furthermore, Wagner mercenaries are actively involved in training the Belarusian military. One instance is their contribution to the training of units from the 6th Mechanized Brigade at the Gozhski military training ground.

“Hence, it would be premature, to say the least, to discuss the withdrawal of Wagner PMC from Belarus. There are no signs of it. On the other hand, it's worth noting that agreements have been made in Mali for Wagner deployment to Niger. This opens the possibility that a segment of the Belarusian group might be redirected to Africa,” the expert concluded.
