No sign of Russian summer offensive so far — Ukraine's Khortytsia grouping
Currently, Ukraine’s Defense Forces report no increased Russian activity in the area under the responsibility of the Khortytsia troop grouping. However, Russian forces had been highly active in this direction during the first half of the year
Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia troop grouping, shared the information, as quoted by Ukrinform.
“As of now, the number of clashes is not rapidly increasing; it has even slightly decreased, but within the margin of error. In our direction, the Russians were already highly active in the first half of the year, and if there is a major escalation, I think it will happen in some parallel sectors, somewhere to the north. We have constant activity along the entire front, and it is more or less stable,” he responded when asked if Russia had started its summer campaign.
The spokesperson also emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting counteroffensive actions while maintaining a defensive strategy.
“As of now, Ukrainian troops are on the defense and focused on maximizing the destruction of Russian personnel and equipment. Active counteroffensive operations are not currently underway, except for some localized actions, and if they do take place, they will obviously be without prior warning,” added Trehubov.
- Recently, Russian forces have been trying to expand the movement zone of their small assault groups in the Sumy region, shelling the areas near Veselivka and Volodymyrivka.
