No need to leave country because of energy situation, Ukraine’s presidential office reassures
Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko assures that there is no need to leave Ukraine due to power outages
He said this on the air of the national telethon on November 21.
According to him, there will be no total blackout, and in the event of a power outage, the heating points will work for several days.
"I would like to reassure you that it will not be necessary to leave the country. There will not be a general blackout throughout the country. Yes, blackouts are possible. They are possible not only for an hour or two, but there is already an understanding that in any case State Emergency Service, regional authorities work to deploy heating points," Tymoshenko said.
According to the deputy head of the President’s Office, power engineers can establish electricity supply within two to three days.
The executive director of DTEK, Dmytro Saharuk, previously advised those who can, to leave Ukraine for the winter. He also said that currently 40% of consumers have problems with electricity.
